About us

Want to be part of something really exciting? We are transforming the way health and care are delivered. Working with our customers, we are leading the way in the delivery of patient-centered, connected, digitally enabled health and care services.

Our customers and partners are using our solutions in all health and care settings, from GP surgeries and community care to high street pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, not-for-profit organisations and specialist services. We are committed to developing the next generation of healthcare technology that will truly make a difference.

Your new role

At EMIS our Product Owners have a vision of what features need to be designed and implemented to drive the quality of the products they look after so that we can continue to provide market-leading software to the NHS and other partners.

As a Product Owner for Health Markets, with products including the GP companion app and digital products that interact with pharmacy, you’ll quickly understand the high-level roadmaps from Product Managers and translate these into detailed plans for our engineering teams to build out. You’ll work closely and collaborate with our wider Product & Development teams to define stories and maintain a clear & streamlined backlog for the team to work from.

A key aspect of this role will be organisation and planning; you’ll often be working across cross-functional teams with interdependencies and will therefore need to be regularly reviewing and prioritising work ensuring that everyone has clear milestones. In addition to this, you will be expected to understand and validate the work that our development teams do and be confident in either accepting the work, or actioning any changes. This is to ensure the highest quality and value gets to our users. Utilising your communication and stakeholder management skills we’d also like you to support our customers and end-users by gathering feedback which you’ll then feed into the wider team, to ensure sprints are innovative, efficient and add value at every release.

This is a great opportunity for a Product Owner to come in and make a real difference within healthcare; every single change that you make as a PO influences our end product ensuring that great products are built,  which ultimately makes a difference to the life of both clinicians and patients.

What you’ll bring

  • Have a broad understanding and practical experience of agile development approaches to working in particular with scrum. We have recently moved to a Scaled Agile Framework structure so a working knowledge of this would be beneficial
  • Exceptional stakeholder management with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • Technical knowledge in relation to interoperability and backend technologies such as FHIR/ Microservices/API etc. would be beneficial
  • Experience and interest in working in the technology industry, a bonus if this is within healthtech
  • Any experience with backlog management tools such as ADO would be beneficial

The team you’ll join

Working as part of our Enterprise Product team headed up by Alex Eavis.

Please note, EMIS has now transitioned to being a predominantly homeworking business, however, you should be prepared to travel to our collaboration hubs as required.

What we’ll give you

As well as a competitive salary you’ll get great a benefits package which includes a generous pension, a healthcare cash plan, life assurance and buying and selling of holidays.

We also take our corporate social responsibility pretty seriously and we believe in giving back to our community, so you’ll get the chance to be involved in lots of fundraising events throughout the year.
