About us

We (EMIS Health), together with the NHS, manage one of the largest healthcare datasets in the world and we’re looking for talented individuals, with a passion for doing good, to help us create new, innovative, accurate and secure solutions across this data to the benefit of UK healthcare.

Your new role

As our Senior PHP Developer, you’ll join us for 3 months to work on enhancing our GP platform and support the wider team in their work and development.

You’ll use your knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS and other technologies to make an impact and quickly get up to speed with the project.

This role can be performed from home and is a fixed-term contract for 3 months.

The team you’ll join

You’ll be joining a much larger team spread across the UK and India, made up of developers, testers, project and programme managers and others.

Great communication skills are vital to ensure you’ll work effectively with the geographically spread team.

What you’ll bring

These are the skills and experience you’ll need to set yourself up for success in this role, however, we’d still love to talk to you even if you don’t tick all of them:

  • You’ll be a seasoned PHP developer and familiar with LAMP stacks, WordPress or other CMS Frameworks, OOP, MVC Frameworks and JavaScript (via NodeJS)
  • You’ll be familiar with agile workflow and scrum methodology
  • You’ll have great communication skills
  • Any certifications will be a bonus

What we’ll give you

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll get a benefits package which includes a generous pension, a healthcare cash plan, life assurance, cycle to work scheme and more!

We also take our corporate social responsibility pretty seriously and we believe in giving back to our community, so you’ll get the chance to be involved in lots of fundraising events throughout the year.  Our latest one was a challenge to complete up to a 100km walk over 24hrs across the Peak District!
