About us

Our customers and partners are using our solutions in all health and care settings, from GP surgeries and community care to high street pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, not for profit organisations and specialist services. We are committed to developing the next generation of healthcare technology that will truly make a difference.

Your new role

As a tech professional with an interest in progressing your career within hosted engineering, you will be joining a team of Platform Consultants working remotely. At EMIS our Platform Consultants are responsible for the stability, security and availability of our Hosted infrastructure which includes; installation, decommissioning, configuration and supporting our software tech stack. This covers physical infrastructure, hypervisors, operating systems and management software such as security, monitoring and automation tools. Whilst we are moving to a more hybrid approach, at present 99% of our infrastructure is on-prem and therefore you’ll be able to utilise your experience with HyperV and VMware technology.

With some experience in a similar technical role, you will assist with BAU activities such as investigating and co-ordinating the resolution of service issues, communicating with colleagues around the business and assisting the wider Hosted Services team. An exciting challenge for you to progress within your career in technology as you will begin to assist with projects. These could be anything from building clinical systems to building patient-facing services. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to regularly use a variety of technology such as virtualising and clustering technologies (ESXi), active directory and windows server operating system.

A fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team that is currently moving towards a more hybrid approach between on-prem and cloud-based services. This gives you to progress within your career and to further develop your skills around AWS/Azure.

  • A natural interest in technology and desire to develop your understanding of enterprise infrastructure and applications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Centre suite (SCOM, SCVMM, SCORCH)
  • Troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
