Your new role

We’re looking for someone brilliant to join our Development department at EMIS. We’re a skilled and motivated team delivering high-quality and value products within Healthcare.

As our new Senior Developer in Test (SDiT), you’ll have the opportunity to lead on the creation of innovative solutions within the ever-changing Healthcare Tech Industry. One of your key responsibilities will be coding of automated tests and you’ll be involved in all stages of the product cycles through requirements, design, development and release of the product.

Working within an agile environment, you’ll also be accountable for writing high-quality code, performing both functional and automation testing, participating in daily stand-ups and end of sprint retrospectives, code reviews, the design of regression test suites and the creation and maintenance of test environments. As part of this role, you’ll work with a variety of teams around the business and have responsibility for ensuring that our high-quality coding, testing and governance standards are met.

As a Senior, you’ll also have additional responsibilities of coaching and mentoring less experienced employees, helping them to develop and progress as well as being confident in suggesting improvements and influencing those around you in both process enhancements and testing decisions.

This is a home-based role however there may be occasional travel to our customer locations of EMIS offices (Leeds, Watford, Bolton).

The team

This role reports into our Quality Assurance Manager, Oana and working within a wider team of QA testers and software developers.

Who you’ll be

We want to make sure you’re set for success so the key skills we’re looking for in the role are below. We know not everyone ticks all the boxes and we’ll provide training on some of the areas if you’re the right person for the role.

  • Proven and demonstrable experience in a software engineering role
  • Solid experience in Automation Testing (CodedUI/Selenium)
  • Programming skills – C#, Java, SQL (any others a bonus!)
  • Experience in Functional Testing and Agile Methodology
  • Communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and work with various stakeholders
