Your new role

With 42 TB of data, 592 billion records in a table, 1.5 billion rows scanned per second, we, together with the NHS, manage one of the largest healthcare datasets in the world.

We’re now looking for a talented individual, with a passion for doing good, to help us create new, innovative, accurate and secure solutions across this data to the benefit of UK healthcare.

As our JS Developer, you’ll be working on a variety of projects and all aspects of the development lifecycle.  You’ll be spending the majority (~60%) of your time involved in front-end development work, working primarily with React.  On the back end, you’ll be working with Java and Kotlin.

All this will be done in an agile environment with collaboration with others across the business and working with a wider variety of technology such as Python, Scala, JavaScript, AWS, SQL, Docker and more.

The team you’ll join

You’ll report to Mohamed and work with colleagues in the UK and our office in Chennai.  Our team is curious, driven, intelligent, pragmatic, collaborative, open-minded, but most importantly, we get things done.

What you’ll bring

These are the skills and experience you’ll need to set yourself up for success in this role, however, we’d still love to talk to you even if you don’t tick all of them:

  • You’ll be experienced with full-stack development with strength in frontend technologies and frameworks like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React and/or Angular
  • Any experience with Python, Java, Scala or Kotlin would be really helpful
  • You’ll be familiar with Agile as a way of working and comfortable with remote working
  • Any experience in healthcare would be beneficial but isn’t essential

What we’ll give you

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll get a benefits package that includes a generous pension, a healthcare cash plan, flexible working, life assurance, a cycle to work scheme and more!

We also take our corporate social responsibility pretty seriously and we believe in giving back to our community, so you’ll get the chance to be involved in lots of fundraising events throughout the year.  Our latest one was a challenge to complete up to a 100km walk over 24hrs across the Peak District!
