About EMIS

Pinnacle is now part of EMIS Group and we build high quality software to support effective healthcare and enable service providers to capture clinical and care information.  It’s vital that we integrate well with other systems to provide new ways of providing care.  We save healthcare organisations millions of pounds.

Your new role

As our User Experience Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development of our system used by every Pharmacy in England.

We’ll look to you to use your artistic flair and development skill to create innovative and user-friendly user experiences.  Along with others in the team you’ll take part in requirements gathering, wireframing, standards defining, coding and testing.  As you develop in the role, you’ll work with a growing list of modern technology such as Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, PHP and Go.

The team you’ll join

You’ll work closely with one other Front-end Developer as well as the wider technical team, all lead by Drew.  You can be based anywhere within the UK, but the closer you are to Newport on the Isle of Wight the better as there will be occasions for you to meet the team at our office there.

What you’ll bring

These are the skills and experience you’ll need to set yourself up for success in this role, however, we’d still love to talk to you even if you don’t tick all of them:

  • You’ll be an experienced User Experience Engineer or Front-end Developer, bringing together an eye for design and technical ability
  • You’ll have examples of UX work and graphic designs which demonstrate your successes so far
  • You’ll be familiar with JavaScript, Angular and HTML and ready to continue learning
  • You’ll be a team player, a collaborator and a great communicator

What we’ll give you

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll get a benefits package that includes things like a pension, life assurance, gym discounts and a cycle to work scheme!

We also take our corporate social responsibility pretty seriously and we believe in giving back to our community, so you’ll get the chance to be involved in lots of fundraising events throughout the year.  Our latest one was a challenge to complete up to a 100km walk over 24hrs across the Peak District!
